INDIANAPOLIS-  UIndy Head Football Coach Bob Bartolomeo announced his 2010 signing class on the first day of the NCAA signing period Feb. 3.  The class includes 17 student-athletes from Indiana, Illinois and Ohio committed to enroll and play football for the Greyhounds in the fall.

WINONA, Minn.-  UIndy's Craig Ray and Randall Courtney were each named to the third team of the Don Hansen's Gazette NCAA Division II All-Super Region Three Team announced this week.  The pair led a Greyhound defense that topped the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in total defense in 2009.

INDIANAPOLIS-- The University of Indianapolis will be one of the charter members of the newly-formed Great Lakes Valley Conference announced Tuesday by league and school officials.  The addition of football to the league's sponsored sports beginning in 2012 will allow UIndy to compete as a full member, joining 17 other Greyhound varsity teams that battle for GLVC championships.

BAY CITY, Mich.-  Twenty-two athletes from the University of Indianapolis earned Academic All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference accolades when the league released the teams Friday.  To qualify for the team, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and cannot be a freshman or a first-year transfer.

KINGSVILLE, Texas-  Senior center Tim Dury has been invited to participate in the 2010 Valero Cactus Bowl, set for Jan. 8 at Texas A&M-Kingsville's Javelina Stadium.  Dury becomes the fourth Greyhound to play in the event and first since 2003.

INDIANAPOLIS- The 2009 Greyhound football team honored their top performers at their annual banquet held recently.  Special awards were presented to players at each position by their respective position coach as well as the William A. Bright Most Valuable Player Awards and the Kelso M. Reid Mental Attitude Award.

INDIANAPOLIS — The University of Indianapolis has promoted Bob Bartolomeo (pronounced bart-o-lo-MAY-o) to its head football coaching position. After six seasons as the Greyhounds’ defensive coordinator, he will assume his new role immediately.  Former coach Joe Polizzi stepped down earlier this month.

BAY CITY, Mich.-  Five Greyhounds earned All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors, including four from the conference's top-ranked defense, announced by league officials Wednesday.  Senior Tim Dury, senior Randall Courtney and junior Craig Ray were all first team honorees while J.T. Owens and Mike Dum were named to the second team.  Six Hounds also earned honorable mention accolades.

MARQUETTE, Mich.-  Host Northern Michigan ran out to a 28-0 lead and held on for a 41-14 win at the Superior Dome Saturday afternoon.  The Greyhounds were held off the scoreboard in the first half, but got scores from Stephen Geller and Paul Corsaro in the season finale.
