University of Indianapolis women’s golf coach Ken Piepenbrink is pleased to announce the signing of two student-athletes for 2010: Brianna Scheidler of Greensburg Community High School and Amy Thompson of Northwood High School. The young women - who finished fourth and ninth, respectively, at this season’s IHSAA State finals - will join the squad as freshman this fall and will immediately contribute to the excellent tradition of the UIndy women’s golf program, both athletically and academically.

FINDLAY, Ohio- University of Indianapolis junior Lyndsay McBride capped a wonderful performance at the NCAA D-II Women’s Golf Championship with a final-round 77 in windy, rainy conditions to take the 2009 individual national championship. Senior Kristi Piepenbrink joined her in the top five, as the pair led the Greyhounds to a third-place tie in the 12-team event, their best finish in program history.

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla.- The fifth-ranked University of Indianapolis women’s golf team placed fourth among a tough field at the NSU Shark Invitational Tuesday, held at the par-72, 6,163-yard Palmer Course at PGA National. The field featured five of Division II’s top-eight ranked teams, including top-ranked and host Nova Southeastern, who won the event by one stroke over No. 3 Rollins.

INDIANAPOLIS- As just one of only two non-Division I schools competing, the fifth-ranked University of Indianapolis women’s golf team grabbed the second-place spot among 14 teams at the Butler Fall Invitational Tuesday, held at Eagle Creek Golf Club.
