INDIANAPOLIS- The OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon was not the only running event in downtown Indianapolis Saturday. Under the shadow of the largest half-marathon in the nation, the 2009 Great Lakes Valley Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships were held at Michael A. Carroll Stadium on the campus of IUPUI. The UIndy women (pictured) took the team title while their male counterparts placed second.

INDIANAPOLIS- Seniors Amy Schmitz and Andrea Horban highlighted an impressive showing at the Stan Lyons Invite at the Michael A. Carroll Track and Field Stadium on the campus of IUPUI Saturday. Schmitz grabbed a new school record in the hammer throw with a winning and automatic NCAA-qualifying heave of 57.07 meters while Horban finished in the top 20 in all four events in which she competed, provisionally-qualifying in two.

MARION, Ind.- The UIndy women's track and field squad won its 15th consecutive Little State team title during the weekend, and the men's team took second by just ten points at the annual meet held this year at Indiana Wesleyan. The Greyhound women earned the team crown with 157.50 points, 54 points more than its nearest competition.
