Alli Opfer score with 25 seconds left in the second overtime propelled the Greyhounds to a 1-0 win against Quincy and kept their GLVC postseason alive. With the win, the No.6-seeded Hounds advance on to the second round of the tournament, defeating the No.3-seeded Hawks.
Opfer scored on a corner kick from
Morgan Binder, heading the ball into the far corner of the goal on Binder's service into the box. The goal was Opfer's third of the year and her first game-winner.
The win elevates UIndy's record to 11-4-2 overall, and pits the Hounds against No.2-seeded Northern Kentucky in the tournament semi-finals Friday at noon at No.1-seeded Wisconsin-Parkside.
Overall, the Hounds were outshot 8-18 in the match. The teams stood even on corner kick chances, with each squad taking five.
Ashley Seehase led the Greyhound offense, taking three shots, two on goal.
Abby Tracy made the defensive stand in goal, collecting her 10th shutout of the year, tying her mark for most in a season in UIndy history. Tracy made eight saves in 109:35 in the net for the Hounds, her 16th complete-game effort of the season.
