BAY CITY, Mich.-
Manuel Stiem was honored with the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Male Swimmer of the Week, announced Wednesday by league officials. Stiem, for his performace last week, was also named the CollegeSwimming.com Male Division II Swimmer of the Week.
Stiem earned the conference's award for the second time already on the young season. Stiem nabbed a pair of NCAA "A" cuts and was a two-time winner at last weekend's four-way meet with Truman State, Ashland and Wayne State. Stiem etched a 1:52.95 in the 200 individual medley and a 4:01.17 in the 400 IM for his automatic qualifiers. He also had a "B" cut in the 200 breaststroke (2:08.11) and had a 22.10 fly split in the 200 medley and 46.60 split in the 400 medley relay.

Stiem and the Greyhounds travel to Ashland, Ohio for their next competition Nov. 15. Ashland will host UIndy in a GLIAC dual meet.
