ANAHEIM, Calif.- The University of Indianapolis women's basketball team led wire-to-wire in a dominating 84-44 victory against Central Washington on the second day of Disney's Division II Tip-Off West Coast Classic at the Anaheim Convention Center Saturday evening. The Greyhounds scored the game's first 12 points and didn't look back, earning a rare 40-point win.

It took Central Washington (0-2) more than six minutes to get on the scoreboard, and the Wildcats didn't hit double-digits until the final two minutes of the half. Meanwhile, UIndy built on its initial 12-0 run by earning leads of 27-5, 36-7, and finally 45-13 at the break.

CWU's first-half point total came on a meager 20.8% field goal percentage (5-for-24), less than half of the UIndy's 47.1% effort. Nine Greyhounds got in the scoring column in the opening twenty minutes, led by seven points from Katie Dewey and Caroline Schutzman.

Though the second half was more competitive, UIndy's lead stayed in the 30s for the vast majority of the final twenty minutes and never dipped below 28. The Hounds finished the game with a 51-34 rebounding advantage and made twice as many free throws as the Wildcats attempted.

Five Greyhounds finished with double-digit scoring figures, led by 11 points from both sophomore Sarah Fenneman and freshman Megan Gardner. Gardner just missed a double-double as the Indianapolis native grabbed nine rebounds while hitting all six of her foul shots.

Junior Jessica Canary needed just 13 minutes to tally 10 points and seven rebounds. Dewey and Katie Lyons also scored 10 points, while Isabell Rhenwrick garnered a start and earned a hearty stat line of nine points, five rebounds, four assists and a game-high four steals.

UIndy (2-0) wraps up its time in Southern California with perhaps its toughest game of the Tip-Off. The Greyhounds face Concordia, St. Paul Sunday at 7 pm ET. The Golden Bears are also 2-0 thus far at the event and are coming off an impressive 28-3 season last year.
