INDIANAPOLIS-  Senior Isabell Rhenwrick recorded her first career double-double Saturday to help the University of Indianapolis women's basketball team to an 84-50 rout of visiting Lincoln Memorial at Nicoson Hall.  Rhenwrick tallied 15 points and 11 rebounds and fell just three assists shy of becoming the second player in program history to notch a triple-double.

Rhenwrick's 11 boards set a new personal best for the Gary, Ind. native.  She also added a career-high tying seven assists and three steals to her stat line.

In a dominating first half, UIndy (11-2) held the Lady Railsplitters to under 30% from the field and allowed just 19 points.  It marked the third time the Greyhounds held their opponent to a sub 20-point first half this season.

The Hounds scored on their first possession on a Samantha Meissel lay-up just before Rhenwrick nailed her only three-point attempt of the game, staking UIndy to an early 5-0 advantage.

After Lincoln got on the board with a deuce, Indianapolis surged with a 7-0 run, and later a 14-2 rally to take control.

Meanwhile, LMU did not reach double-digits in points until 11-and-a-half minutes in, and didn't crack 20 until the second half.

After intermission, the Greyhounds' kept their collective foot on the gas by scoring the first seven points of the second half to quickly push the margin to 30.  The run was capped when Meissel successfully completed a conventional three-point play, part of her 16 points on the afternoon.

From there, Lincoln Memorial (5-4) made its only significant run of the game.  The Lady Railsplitters outscored Indianapolis 14-4 over a four minute span, cutting the lead to 20 and forcing a UIndy timeout with 13:59 remaining.  LMU would not get any closer, however, as the Hounds scored 12 straight out of the stoppage and cruised to the 34-point win.

UIndy not only scored 42 points in both the first and second half, but also shot an identical 16-for-31 (.516) from the floor in each frame.

Junior Jessica Canary led all players with 22 points, hitting eight of 14 field goal attempts and adding six rebounds and three steals.  Katie Dewey made across-the-board contributions with 12 points, six boards, seven assists and four steals.

The Double-A Zone, the official blog of the NCAA, covered the Greyhounds' blowout win versus Lincoln Memorial.  Bloggers Howard Smith and Ryan Powell made a pit stop at Nicoson as part of their “Indiana basketball extravaganza: 11 college games in four days.”  Click here throughout to trek to check on their progress.

Indianapolis plays its final non-conference game of the regular season Monday when it travels to Memphis, Tenn.  for a 4 p.m. tip versus Christian Brothers Univeristy.

Note:  UIndy's only triple-double came Mar. 4, 1995 when Melissa Graham totaled 10 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists against Southern Indiana.  However, then USI sophomore and current Greyhounds head coach LeAnn Freeland (11 pts, 10 rbs) was one of two Screaming Eagles with a double-double that day, as USI shrugged off Graham's effort to garner the 71-54 victory at Nicoson Hall.
