INDIANAPOLIS- Senior
Isabell Rhenwrick was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week Monday by league officials. The Gary, Ind. native posted her first career double-double to help UIndy to its third straight win Saturday.
In a 84-50 rout of visiting Lincoln Memorial, Rhenwrick tallied season highs with 15 points and 11 boards and fell just three assists shy of becoming the second player in program history to notch a triple-double. Her rebound total set a new personal best for the team's lone senior. She connected on 5-of-8 (.625) field goal attempts while sinking all four shots from the foul line, also adding a career-high tying seven assists and three steals to her stat line.
The 5-9 guard is the first Greyhound to capture the weekly award this season, and the first since
Karla Mast took the honors Dec. 10 of last year.
Rhenwrick and her teammates play their final non-conference game of the regular season this afternoon when they travel to Memphis, Tenn. for a 4 p.m. tip versus Christian Brothers Univeristy.
