On tap:  The Greyhounds have three games on the docket this week, opening with a home tilt against Temple Baptist followed by a road swing to the south with league contests at Kentucky Wesleyan and Southern Indiana.   The Dec. 30 contest will mark the final non-conference affair of the regular season for UIndy.  The Hounds have won two straight for the first time this season and have wins in three of their last four contests.

About Temple Baptist:  The Rams are 0-6 following a 130-57 blowout loss to Southern Indiana back on Dec. 13 (the last date stats are available for TBC).  Its closest game of the season was a 41-point defeat to Charleston on Nov. 28.  Opponents are averaging 111 points per game against the Rams this season and every team has scored at least 95 against them this year.

About Kentucky Wesleyan:  The Panthers are currently ranked No. 11 in the latest National Association of Basketball Coaches Poll (Dec. 23).  KWC is  8-1 on the season with its lone loss coming back on Dec. 6 at league-rival Saint Joseph's, 72-53.  The Panthers have four players that average double digits in points, led by 14.7 from Maros Zuffa.  Lorenzo Taylor (12.8), Chris Williams (11.8) and Trey Harris (11.7) help give the Panthers a 79.2 points per game average, third-best in the league.  Taylor leads the GLVC in rebounding, averaging 8.9 boards per game.

About Southern Indiana
:  The Screaming Eagles have a hefty 11-2 ledger heading into this week on the strength of its high potent offense.  USI leads the GLVC in scoring with a whopping 88.3 points per game clip.  The Eagles are not only an offensive team, but have blocked 81 shots this season, nearly double the total of any other league member and have registered a league-best 176 steals (13.5 per game) on the defensive end to help kick-start its high-paced offense.  Brandon Russ leads the squad with a 14.0 ppg average followed by Marvin Gray at 11.5 ppg.

UIndy Head Coach Stan Gouard Stan Gouard is in his first season as the head man at Indianapolis.  Gouard was introduced as the new head of the Greyhound program on Apr. 3, 2008.  He previously spent three years as an assistant coach at Indiana State following his three-year stint as an assistant at UIndy.  While at Indianapolis, Gouard was part of the staff that helped the Hounds to a 47-31 record, advancing to the NCAA tournament all three seasons.

Homecoming:  Sunday will mark a homecoming for UIndy head coach Stan Gouard.  The former standout at Southern Indiana will be coaching against his alma mater, a school that he helped lead to back-to-back national title games and an NCAA DII Championship in 1995.  Gouard was inducted into the USI Athletics Hall of Fame back in 2007 and is a member of the GLVC Hall of Fame (2003).

Thunder Struck:  Junior Sergey Struck had a career night in the Dec. 17 win over Brescia.  The transfer buried 9-of-10 shots from the floor en route to a 24-point night.  He coupled that with 10 rebounds to become the first Greyhound this season to record a double-double.

Into the Woods:  Junior Larry Woods had his best game in a Greyhound uniform in the Hounds' last outing, hitting 11-of-16 from the floor to gather 24 points in the win at Saginaw Valley State.  Woods also had eight rebounds, two blocks and two steals in the impressive victory.

Rank and File:  UIndy continues a theme to its schedule, playing a pair of ranked teams this week.  Thus far, the Hounds have already played four schools that find themselves in this week's top 25 (#1 Findlay, #13 Bellarmine,  #16 Grand Valley State and #17 Northern Kentucky).

18 and Over:  Senior Tristan Rogers helped get things going for Indianapolis in the opening half of the win at Saginaw Valley State.  Rogers had 18 points in the first 20 minutes alone but gave way to teammate Larry Woods in the second frame as Woods matched the feat and scored 18 of his own in the half.  The pair finished with 46 points combined to help UIndy to the win.
