INDIANAPOLIS- The Greyhound swimming and diving teams welcomed some of the nation's top talent to the Ruth Lilly Fitness Center Friday and Saturday, hosting Ashland, Truman State and Wayne State. 

Shiran Abramson finished fourth in the 1,650 freestyle with a 18:11.10 time and then on Saturday she etched a 5:15.21 performance in the 500 freestyle.   Maura Donahue was the runner-up in the 200 freestyle with her 1:54.87 clocking and later won the 100 freestyle (53.23).  Meghan Donahue took fourth in the 100 backstroke 1:00.86).   Alex Norris was third in the 50 freestyle, finishing in 25.07.  Erica Smith won the 20 butterfly with her 2:08.83 time and also grabbed third place in the 200 IM, touching in 2:11.63.  Jaclyn Luscomb put up a 1:11.07 performance in the 100 breaststroke for fourth place.

Alican Alacli took fourth in the 1,650 freestyle, clocking a 17:03.81 time.  Guy Kogel had another outstanding meet, winning a pair of events.  He won the 200 freestyle, a runaway effort, by more than four-and-a-half seconds ahead of the field (1:42.16).  Saturday, he outswam the field with a 46.94 time.   Bryan Zann had a 23.13 effort in the 50 free, good for fourth place.  Austin Biefnes was just edged-out in the 200 IM, settling for second place (1:56.51) and took fourth in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.49).   Rico Ewing was the lone diver for the Greyhounds, taking fifth off the 3-meter board and seventh place from the 1-meter springboard.  Adam Petro was second in the 200 fly with his 1:57.57 effort.  Seth Smoker was right behind him in third (1:59.45).  Baris Ilhan took second in the 500 freestyle (4:51.47).

For the meet, four different UIndy athletes earned NCAA time standards, including one A-cut (Guy Kogel-100 fly).  Kogel also added B-times in the 100 and 200 free.  Maura Donahue had B-cuts in the 100, 200, 500 and 1000 freewhile Erica Smith added three "B" times of her own (100 and 200 fly, 200 IM).  Austin Biefnes made it a dozen time standards for the Greyhounds with a pair of B-cuts (200and 400 IM).

The Greyhounds compete next at the IUPUI House of Champions Invite Nov. 13-14 at the IU Natatorium downtown.
