INDIANAPOLIS - University of Indianapolis senior forward
Ashley Seehase was named Great Lakes Valley Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week earlier today in a release by the conference office.
The Indianapolis native led the Greyhounds to a pair of conference victories over the weekend against GLVC foes Missouri S&T and Maryville University to close out the regular season. Seehase tallied three goals and two assists to finish the weekend with eight points.
In Friday's 3-1 win over the Miners, Seehase netted the game-winner for the Greyhounds in the 78th minute and tallied an assist on an earlier goal from
Natalie Dietel.
After Senior Day festivities on Sunday afternoon, the senior forward celebrated her last regular season match at Key Stadium by scoring a pair of goals and adding an assist on a
Shelby Spinelli goal in UIndy's 5-1 victory over Maryville.
With the three goal performance over the weekend, Seehase currently leads the team with nine goals on the season and has provided three assists for a season total of 21 points.
The Greyhound women's squad secured the No. 4 seed for the GLVC Women's Soccer Tournament and will host Wisconsin-Parkside in the opening round play on Sunday at Key Stadium. Kick-off is slated for Noon.
