INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The Greyhound men's soccer squad picked up a 3-1 win over Great Lakes Valley Conference newcomer Illinois-Springfield on a rainy Friday evening at Key Stadium.
Indianapolis used a full team effort, with five different players scoring for the Hounds, in the victory over the Prairie Stars to even their overall record at 5-5-2 and moving to 3-5-1 in GLVC action.

Cory Barber gave the Hounds an early 1-0 lead in the 8th minute, finishing a volley over the head of the UIS keeper. The goal was Barber's third of the season and his seventh point.
UIndy struck again just under five minutes later when Joseph McGuire headed a
Max Marsh cross over the goalkeeper to give the Greyhounds a 2-0 lead early in the first half.
The Praire Stars answered with a goal of their own in the 23rd minute after Anthony Longo put in a rebound after a
Hunter Extine save that the Hound defense was unable to clear making the tally 2-1 in favor of Indianapolis at the break.
The second half would yield only one goal as the teams played for nearly 50 minutes without a tally until
Roger Lee added an insurance goal for the Greyhounds in the 71st minute.
Diego Lemus played a cross to the near post and onto the foot of a streaking Lee to make the final score 3-1.
Extine picked up his first career win in net for UIndy in his second start of the season. The freshman collected a save in the victory and improved his goals against average to 1.10.
Indianapolis will return to action on Sunday afternoon when they welcome Quincy to Key Stadium for a 2:30 PM kick-off. The Hawks stand at 6-5-2 on the year and 5-3-1 in GLVC after a 2-0 loss on Friday night to Northern Kentucky.
