ALLENDALE, Mich.-  The Greyhound women's soccer team saw their season come to an end on Friday afternoon as they dropped a 1-0 decision to Bellarmine University in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament at Grand Valley State University.

The Knights (14-3-1) handed UIndy their first loss of the season with a 1-0 win at Key Stadium on September 18 and gave them their last on Friday after a header from Alex Kowalski found the upper left corner of the net in the 29th minute.

Bellarmine controlled the ball throughout most of the match, outshooting the Hounds 14-2 after the first 45 minutes.  Senior Ashley Seehase (Indianapolis, Ind./Warren Central) kept the game scoreless after turning away a shot from Lauren Triplett that scooted past the outstretched arms of UIndy netminder Shae Morris (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove) and was bound for the lower left corner of the goal.

Kowalski's goal come after a cross from Danielle Kunowski and would give the Knights a 1-0 halftime advantage.  The best chance for Indianapolis in the first stanza came with just under five minutes remaining in the half as a shot by Morgan Binder (Versailles, Ky./Woodford County) sailed just over the crossbar.

Neither team managed a tally in the second half, as the Knights tallied a 7-4 shot margin in the final period and completed the shutout of the Greyhounds after a pair of saves by Amy Kunwoski late in the contest.

Binder led the Hounds offensively with a pair of shots as Morris collected seven saves in net for UIndy.

Indianapolis concludes their season with a 15-6-0 mark after finishing Great Lakes Valley Conference play with a record of 11-3-0.  Bellarmine advances to face Grand Valley State on Sunday at 1:00 PM.
