INDIANAPOLIS- The Greyhound swimming teams each took sixth place at the annual House of Champions Invite, hosted by IUPUI at the IU Natatorium Friday and Saturday. The meet featured teams from the host school, Ashland, Ball State, Butler, Xavier, Western Illinois and UIndy.
Highlights included
Guy Kogel winning the 200 butterfly in an NCAA A-cut time (1:51.44) and taking second in a B-cut time in the 200 freestyle (1:42.08). Kogel also placed fifth in the 200 individual medley (1:58.36).
Alican Alacli was sixth in the 200 fly (1:59.97). The men's 200 free relay finished third (1:26.17) and the 400 medley foursome was fourth (3:35.09). The 200 medley relay took fourth (1:38.06) while the 400 free relay was also fourth (3:15.22).
Maura Donahue grabbed NCAA B-times with her 100 freestyle finish (second- 52.85) and 50 free (fourth- 24.47). She also took fourth in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.00).
Erica Smith took fourth in the 200 breaststroke (2:28.69) and seventh in the 200 free (1:58.97). The 400 freestyle relay finished runner-up in 3:39.29. The women's 200 free relay took third (1:38.87) and the 200 and 400 medley squads were both fourth placers.
Both teams will compete in the Wabash Invitational next Friday and Saturday in Crawfordsville, Ind.
