COMPLETE RESULTS

EAST LANSING, Mich. -  The University of Indianapolis placed four wrestlers in the top six in their respective weight brackets at the Michigan State Open on Sunday.  #J.T. Jenkins# led the Hounds with a second-place finish in the freshman/sophomore 174-pound class, while Ethan Harris, Nick Walpole, and David Lopez all placed fourth in their weight brackets.

Jenkins earned an 8-3 decision over Andrew Wiseman and topped Eastern Michigan's Khodar Hoballah before falling to Bryant Craft of Michigan State in the title bout.

Harris (pictured) earned four victories in the freshman/sophomore 133-pound bracket earning a 3-1 decision over Bret Marsh of Michigan before falling to Dan Osterman of Michigan State in his second match.  Harris them earned wins over Jake Brown of Michigan, Central Michigan's Justin Zimmerman, and Jordan Dix from the Citadel.  Ohio's Tim Silvers ended the afternoon for Harris after posting a 6-0 decision in the third-place match.

Walpole won his opening round bout in the open division at 149 with an impressive 46 second pin over Appalachian State's Richard Dehnz and then continued through the bracket with decisions over Dan Castillo of Cleveland State and Dan Ruettiger of Northern Illinois.  Walpole suffered his first defeat at the hands of Michigan State's David Cheza before pinning Donnie Corby of Central Michigan at the 3:53 mark.  Walpole then faced Ruettiger for a second time in the third-place bout, falling 6-3.

Lopez finished the day with four wins, the first one coming via a 12-3 decision over Findlay's Alex Betts.  Lopez was then defeated by Brian Stephens of Virginia Tech before earning a trip to to the third-place match with wins over Kyle Mays of Cleveland State, Eric Luna of North Idaho, and Drew Leonard of Kent State.  Trine's Elias Larson ended Lopez's hopes of a top-three finish after earning an 11-4 decision.

The Greyhound grapplers will be back in action next Sunday when they travel to Columbia, Missouri to compete in the Missouri Open.  Action is slated to begin at 9:00 AM.
