KENOSHA, Wis.- The Greyhound cross country teams ran in the final race of the season Saturday, taking part in the NCAA Regional event hosted by Wisconsin-Parkside. The UIndy men finished in 15th as a team while the women took 16th.
Leading the way for the Greyhound women was
Stephanie Cave (New Albany, Ind./New Albany). The freshman capped a solid freshman campaign by taking 53rd in the race, crossing in 24:08. The remaining four Hound scorers were within a minute of each other, led by
Katherine Wilhelm (Wabash, Ind./Wabash) (24:36). Katie Boester went 24:51, Lindsey Houvener finished in 25:28 and
Michelle Lewis (Lake Balboa, Calif./Notre Dame) clocked-in at 25:31.
On the men's side,
Mark Martinez (Rockford, Ill./Rockford Guilford) was the top UIndy placer, taking 44th with a 34:49 time.
Michael Landy (Indianapolis, Ind./Warren Central) closed out his cross career with a 35:27 effort for 62nd with
Ian O'Boyle (Hammond, Ind./Bishop Noll) right behind him.
Josh Gornall (Bloomington, Ind./Bloomington South) was 84rd (36:21) with #Andrew Piropato 121st (39:04) to round-out the UIndy scorers.
Grand Valley State won both the men's and the women's races, advancing to the NCAA national meet later this month.
