Track competes at IU, DePauw

DePauw Indoor Track Classic Results-   Women    Men

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.-  The Greyhound track and field teams competed at the Hoosier Hills Invite at Indiana University Friday and also at the DePauw Indoor Track Classic Saturday. 

Amy Schmitz improved on her school record and NCAA-qualifying mark in the women's weight throw at IU.  After already recording a toss of 18.68 meters this season, Schmitz posted a 18.70-meter throw Friday, finishing second in a Division-I heavy field of competitors.  Kierra Allen improved her season-best mark in the 400 dash, finishing in 58.40 and taking third place in the event.

Emily Schaf won the women's high jump at the DePauw Indoor Classic a day later.  She cleared 1.65 meters en route to the win.  The Greyhound men had two finishers in the top five in the men's weight throw at DePauw.  Dustin Gilpatrick (14.73m) took third while Seth Galloway (14.03m) took fifth.  Galloway also took fifth in the shot put (13.88m).  Skyler Mattox was fourth in the long jump (6.79m).

The Greyhounds are scheduled to compete at Eastern Illinois on Friday.
