RICHMOND, Ky.-  The Greyhound track and field team competed at the Eastern Kentucky Open Friday.  Seth Galloway notched a new school record in the javelin to highlight the day's competition.

Galloway's throw of 61.82 meters was good for runner-up honors, second behind only Tennessee's Nathaniel Couture.  Galloway's effort was one of several top ten performances by the Greyhounds at the Open. 

Kierra Allen won the 400-meter dash with a 58.10 time.  Christina Carrick finished sixth in the event.  Three Hounds finished in the top six in the women's 100-meter dash.  Nichelle Curtis was third, Shanese McGregor fifth and Ashley DeVries sixth.  Three Hounds were in the top seven in the women's 200-meter dash with Curtis leading the way in third, Allen fourth and Saidat Sanuth seventh.  Katie Dewey ran a 2:19.69 800-meter race to finish eighth.

Select UIndy hammer throwers also competed at Purdue's Dave Rankin Invitational Friday night.  Andrea Horban finished fourth while Courtney Kuzmicz took sixth on the women's side while Sam Elmore took fifth in that event on the men's side.
