WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind.- The Greyhound track and field teams competed at the Mike Poehlein Invite Saturday on the campus of Purdue University.
Frederick Helm won the 100 meter dash, just shy of an NCAA provisional mark (:10.74).
Trent Harris' final toss in the shot put was a provisional qualifier and was good enough for second place (16.86m). The Hounds had two provisional qualifiers in the hammer as
Willie Little grabbed fourth place (56.79m) and
Craig Myers seventh (54.38m).
Seth Galloway bested the competition in the javelin with a 57.54-meter heave.
Andrea Horban etched a provisional toss in earning runner-up honors in the shot put with a 14.30-meter effort.
Amy Schmitz also finished second in the hammer, throwing 54.52 meters.
The Greyhounds will next compete at the Indiana Intercollegiates event at Indiana Wesleyan next Saturday.
