INDIANAPOLIS- Senior
Andrea Horban was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Female Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week according to a release by league officials Tuesday. Horban helped UIndy win the honor for the third straight week.
Horban, a senior for the Greyhounds, tossed the hammer 47.57 meters for a seasonal best on Friday at the Mike Poehlein Invite. On Saturday, she had three top five finishes including a provisional qualifying toss in the women's shot. Horban concluded the competition with tosses of 14.30 meters in the shot and 42.53 meters in the discus.
UIndy athletes have garnered weekly recognition from the league eight times this season (indoor and outdoor).
Amy Schmitz has won the award three times with
Emily Schaf,
Seth Galloway,
Frederick Helm,
Willie Little and Horban all with one apiece.
Indianapolis will be competing at Indiana Wesleyan this weekend.
