SOUTH HAVEN, Mich.- University of Indianapolis of golfers
Aaron Monson and
Blair Webb each shot a one-under 143 to tie for sixth at the two-day Great Lakes Fall Regional at Hawks Head Golf Course Monday. The pair topped a UIndy squad that finished fourth among the large 24-team field.
Webb fired the team's lone sub-70 round with a 69 (36-33) on Sunday, putting him two strokes off the lead. The all-conference junior finished with a 74 Monday to share sixth place. Webb racked-up a tournament-high-tying six birdies in 36 holes.
Sophomore Monson (pictured) shot one-under in the opening round before a second-round 73 inked his tally at 143. The 2009 Indiana Open champion shared the lowest par-3 average for the event by shooting a cumulative 2.75 on the short holes.
UIndy had a pair of competitors shot even par Monday to help them place in the 20s in the 120-man field. Senior
Seth Fair, who won the Kiawah Island Invitational earlier this month, tied for 22nd with a 146 (74-72), while
Kyle Miller's 72 Monday allowed the senior to jump from 53rd to 29th.

Brad Abel shot matching 78s to share 76th place.
Wayne State finished play Sunday tied for fourth in the team standings, but after firing a six-under 282 Monday, leapfrogged to the team title. Three Rangers placed in the top six, but none as high as medalist Danny Lewis (68-67) of Northern Kentucky.
Next week, the Greyhounds act as hosts at the annual UIndy Ken Partridge Intercollegiate Sep. 28-29. This year, the event will double as the Division II NCAA Preview, as the Hounds and many of the other top programs in the nation migrate to Noblesville, Ind. and the Jack Nicklaus-designed Sagamore Club, site of the 2010 D-II national championship tournament this coming spring.
