Aaron Monson will be the inaugural guest on the Hometown -produced Indy Prep Golf television program. The pilot episode will air four times Friday, Sep. 25 on Hometown Sports Indiana (Comcast 81 in Indy), with the premiere showing at 3 p.m.
Monson became just the second amateur in 39 years to win the Indiana Open after a near-record-setting performance at the 2009 PGA Indiana Open this past July. The Perry Meridian grad capped the four-round event by firing a nine-under 63, one stroke off the Brickyard's course record.
Last season, Monson - the 2009 Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Golf Freshman of the Year - finished a team-best fifth at the NCAA Division II Championships in May on the way to earning All-American Honorable Mention from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
The pilot episode of Indy Prep Golf, a program dedicated to local high school golf, will be shown on Hometown Sports Indiana tomorrow at 3 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 10 p.m., and 10:30 p.m., as well as several times next week. The show is scheduled to air monthly starting in March of 2010.
