UIndy grabs team title, ties record

Final results

WATERLOO, Ill.- The eighth-ranked University of Indianapolis women's golf team picked up its second straight team title Sunday with a convincing 16-stroke win at the Missouri-St. Louis Midwest Shootout.  The Greyhounds' collectively carded a 300 in the second round, tying the program mark for lowest 18-hole team score.

UIndy coupled its record-tying 300 with an 18-over 306 in the first round to finish well ahead of second-place Drury.  The two-round tournament also served as the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship Preview, as the event featured 10 league teams and was held at Annbriar Golf Course, site of the 2010 GLVC Championship.

Senior Lyndsay McBride again led the Hounds with a fourth-place showing, carding scores of 75 and 74 to land at five over par.  The 2009 NCAA D-II individual national champion now has three wins and five top-five finishes in UIndy's five fall tournaments.

Freshman Megan Kiley her third top-five finish in her young collegiate career as she carded a six-over 150 (76-74) to grab sole possession of fifth in the 63-golfer field.

Senior Sarah Prascsak and freshman Lauren Vogt made it four Hounds in the top ten, as both finished with a two-day total of 155 to tie for ninth.  Prascsak's first-round 80 earned a share of 22nd at the halfway mark, but the Fort Wayne native reconciled with an a 75 today to nab her third top ten of the year.

Junior Allison Tyler highlighted her 17th-place finish with a first-round 75, while sophomore Darin Pinnick and senior Ashley Seaton  placed 23rd and 25th, respectively.

The Greyhounds will compete in town for the first and only time this academic year when they tee it up at the Butler Fall Invitational at Eagle Creek Golf Course Oct 5-6.


Notes:  Saturday's play was suspended due to darkness as only six of the ten teams completed 18 holes in the rain-hampered opening round…Bellarmine's Sarah Duplessis took medalist honors with an even-par 144 (70-74).
