ALLENDALE, Mich.- The 8th-ranked University of Indianapolis women's golf finished second among a region-heavy 16-team field at the Laker Fall Classic Tuesday. UIndy received three top-10 performances, led by senior
Lyndsay McBride's runner-up score of 152. The two-day annual event was held at The Meadows Golf Course on the campus of Grand Valley State University.
McBride followed Monday's 77 with a three-over 75 Tuesday, to jump from a tie for 3rd to 2nd place. GVSU's Allie Tyler shot a 146 as the only golfer ahead of the 2009 NCAA D-II champion. McBride now sports a stellar 231-1 record on the young season.
The freshman tandem of
Megan Kiley and
Lauren Vogt also notched top-10 showings. Kiley fired matching 77s to share third place, while Vogt went 75 and 83 to tie for ninth.
Junior
Allison Tyler finished with a two-day score of 162 (82-80) to share 17th and senior
Sarah Prascsak rounded out the team scoring with a 171 (88-83), good for 49th.
Individuals
Ashley Seaton (79-83) and
Darin Pinnick (84-81) also finished highly in the 96-golfer field as
Seaton tied for 17th place and
Pinnick tied for 30th.
The Greyhounds have a week off before heading to Evansville, Ind. for the Screaming Eagle Classic. The two-day event begins Sunday, Sep. 20.
