CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind.- The UIndy swim teams each picked-up dual wins Saturday at Wabash College as the women defeated Hillsdale, 147-110, and the men were 154-121 winners over the host school. The Greyhounds earned wins in all but nine of the 32 events contested.
Seven different UIndy swimmers won two events. Shiran Abramzon took the 1000 freestyle (10:52.27) and 500 free (5:23.15).
Maura Donahue (Milan, Mich.) won the 200 free (1:56.64) and the 100 free (54.72).
Meghan Donahue (Milan, Mich./Milan) was the 100 backstroke winner (1:00.66) and later won the 200-yard event as well (2:11.36).
Erica Smith (Ft. Wayne, Ind./Snider/Duquesne) was the 200 butterfly (2:12.16) and 100 fly champ.
Guy Kogel (Nahalal, Israel) took the 200 free (1:43.82) and 100 fly (49.75).
Deniz Alkan (Istanbul, Turkey) was the victor in both the 100 (53.72) 200 yard backstroke (2:00.29).
Jaclyn Luscomb (La Porte, Ind./La Porte) won both backstroke races, taking the 100 in 1:09.64 and the 200 in 2:29.27.
Other Greyhound winners included:
Adam Petro (Indianapolis, Ind./Decatur Central/Wabash) in the 200 fly (1:57.26),
Nikolas Aresti (Cyrpus) in the 50 free (22.23), Andrew Loshnowski and
Justin Klopp (Berne, Ind.) both touched in 48.08 to share the win in the 100 free.
Alican Alacli (Istanbul, Turkey) won the 500 freestyle (4:50.97) and
Baris Ilhan (Istanbul, Turkey) was the 1000 free winner (10:08.66). Both UIndy 400 medley relay squads were victorious.
UIndy will host Grand Valley State for a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference meet Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Ruth Lilly Center Pool.
