Complete 2011 Daktronics All-Midwest Region teams

INDIANAPOLIS- UIndy men's soccer's Ryan Barnett has been named to the Daktronics All-Midwest Region second team, announced Tuesday.

The Daktronics All-Region teams are nominated and voted upon by the region's sports information directors. The first team honorees will now go on to All-America consideration.

Barnett earned one of four defender positions on the second team. The UIndy junior helped the Greyhound defense to seven shutouts in 12 wins on the season, while also putting in three goals and adding two assists on the offensive end.

In addition to his on-the-field honor, Barnett has also earned CoSIDA Academic All-District 4 accolades this season, boasting a perfect 4.0 GPA as an exercise science major.

Rockhurst's Mark Magee was named the 2011 Midwest Region Player of the year. Magee was a first team All-GLVC selection, and helped the Hawks to the regular-season GLVC men's soccer title.
