2011 American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division II All-America Teams

Kristina Hefferan and junior outside hitter
Kristina Kerrigan were named AVCA Division II All-Americans today. This is the first career All-America honor for both players as Hefferan was selected to the second team and Kerrigan was named honorable mention.
This is the fourth year in a row that the Greyhounds (24-8, 15-3 GLVC) have had at least two AVCA All-Americans as Hefferan and Kerrigan become the sixth and seventh AVCA All-Americans in school history. (Shaun McAllister, Kyleigh Turner, Beth Robbins,

Hefferan was a First Team All-Great Lakes Valley Conference pick and Daktronics First Team All-Region after ranking 25th nationally with 4.00 kills per set. She has a .281 attack percentage and 2.46 digs per set after being named to the NCAA Tournament All-Midwest Region Team. This is the first AVCA All-Region honor for Hefferan. She had 12 kills/digs double-doubles, including each of the last five matches of the season. Hefferan's 427 kills this season ranks eighth in a single season at UIndy and she finishes her career sixth with 1,235 career kills.
Kerrigan was a First Team All-GLVC pick, Daktronics Second Team All-Region and NCAA Tournament All-Midwest Region Team selection for the Greyhounds. This is her first time on the main all-region team after being named honorable mention last season. Kerrigan is ranked 63rd nationally with 3.65 kills per set, hitting .266, and 2.45 digs per set as she led the team with 13 kills/digs double-doubles. Kerrigan, a junior, tallied 424 kills this season, which is ninth in a single season, and she is fifth in career kills with 1,256.
UIndy won its third GLVC championship in school history in 2011 and advanced to the final 16 of the NCAA Tournament for the third consecutive season.
