Final AVCA Division II Top 25
LEXINGTON, Ky. -- The University of Indianapolis volleyball team is ranked 15th in the final American Volleyball Coaches Association Division II Coaches Top 25. The Great Lakes Valley Conference champion Greyhounds (24-8, 15-3 GLVC) were the highest-ranked GLVC school in the final national rankings.
UIndy won its third conference title in school history by defeating Lewis in come-from-behind fashion, 3-2, at Ruth Lilly Center and then advanced to the final 16 of the NCAA Tournament for the third year in a row.
This is the second year in a row that UIndy has been ranked 15th in the final national poll and third year in a row that the Greyhounds have been ranked among the top teams in NCAA Division II.
UIndy loses a trio of seniors, including AVCA Second Team All-American
Kristina Hefferan and Third Team All-GLVC middle blocker
Courtney Anglemyer, but return a talented core. UIndy will return four starters, including AVCA and Daktronics All-Region outside hitter
Kristina Kerrigan and AVCA Midwest Region Freshman of the Year setter
Meghan Binkerd as they will be looking for their 14th consecutive 20-win season and sixth consecutive NCAA Tournament berth in 2012.
