Hillsdale "Gina" Relays Results

INDIANAPOLIS- The Greyhound track and field squads sent a handful of participants to a pair of events, with some tracksters participating in the Hillsdale "Gina" Relays and some Greyhounds representing UIndy at the Stan Lyons Invitational.

At the Stan Lyons Invitational, hosted by Butler at IUPUI, Katy Watson posted an NCAA provisional mark in the women's discus, with a throw of 43.67 meters.

For the men at the Stan Lyons, Blaze Hurley posted an NCAA provisional mark in the pole vault, with a mark of 4.87 meters. Matt Royer also tossed an NCAA provisional mark, with a 61.52 meter throw in the men's hammer. The mark won the event for Royer.

Mark Martinez was the top finisher for UIndy at the Gina Relays, taking 10th in the men's 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:00.47.

Next up for both Greyhound squads is the 2011 GLVC Outdoor Championships Friday and Saturday at Missouri S&T. UIndy won both the men's and women's GLVC Outdoor championships last year, with Head Coach Scott Fangman earning both the 2011 men's and women's Outdoor Coach of the Year honors a season ago. Kierra Allen was the conference's Female Track Athlete of the Year.
