Women's Accepted Entries

TURLOCK, Cali.- Six men and one woman will represent the UIndy track and field squads at the 2011 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Cal State-Stanislaus May 26-28.

The lone UIndy woman to make the cut is GLVC Athlete of the Year Angelique McNeal. The Greyhound senior will run the 100-meter dash, the event she won to help the UIndy team to the 2011 GLVC Outdoor championship. McNeal finished the race in 11.81 at the GLVC meet to earn a provisional mark and her trip to Nationals.

Jerel Flournoy, Robert Gardner and Jermel Kindred will all represent UIndy in two events each at the NCAA meet. Flournoy and Gardner will both run the men's 400-meter dash, while Kindred has a spot in the men's 400-meter hurdle field.

All three will then team with Nick Brattain for the men's 4x400-meter relay, an event that the same squad earned All-American honors at during the indoor season. The team is heading to the national meet via a school-record time of 3:09.84 that they posted at Ohio State's Jesse Owen's Track Classic.

On the field side of the meet, Blaze Hurley and Matt Royer will head to California for UIndy. Hurley will compete in the pole vault, after setting a new school record and becoming a GLVC champion in the event (4.97 meters) to qualify at the 2011 GLVC Outdoor Championships.

Royer will compete in the men's hammer throw. His provisional mark of 61.66 meters, acheived at the 2011 Indiana Intercollegiates Apr. 8, was good for the ninth-best toss in Division II on the year.

The 2011 NCAA Divison II Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held May 26-28 in Turlock, California, at the Al Brenda Track Complex.  California State University, Stanislaus, will serve as host of the championships. The Division II Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be streamed live NCAA.com each day of the championships.
