Complete USTFCCCA All-Region listings

NEW ORLEANS- A total of 14 Greyhound track and field student athletes across 14 different events garnered All-Region honors from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the outdoor season, the Association announced Tuesday afternoon.

The top five from each region in individual events and each member of a relay ranked in the region's top three have earned the All-Region distinction for the 2011 outdoor season. A total of 1,250 athletes receive 1,838 all-region nods in the inaugural outdoor class selected by the USTFCCCA.

Kierra Allen and Angelique McNeal headlined the UIndy honorees, with each earning four all-region honors. Jerel Flournoy and Robert Gardner each earned three honors apiece to lead the Greyhound men.

Next up for the Greyhounds are the 2011 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 26-28 at Cal State-Stanislaus. Seven total UIndy student-athletes will compete at the national meet, six men (Gardner, Flournoy, Jermel Kindred, Nick Brattain, Blaze Hurley and Matt Royer) and one woman (McNeal) have earned the trip to Nationals for UIndy.
