INDIANAPOLIS- Three goals in a span of 10 minutes decided Sunday's women's soccer match between UIndy and visiting Wisconsin-Parkside, with the Rangers escaping with a 2-1 win in the contest.
Libby Anderl tallied the first goal of her career in the 56th minute, staking UIndy (2-2-0; 0-2-0 GLVC) the 1-0 lead. Anderl took a shot from about 25 yards off of a ball from
Morgan Binder.
UIndy's lead would not hold, however, with the Rangers (2-0-0, 2-0-0 GLVC) answering back just nine minutes later. Stephanie Barsuli tallied the score on an assist from Madison Pickett. Wisconsin-Parkside took the lead just more than a minute later, on a header by Barsuli off of a Shannon Becker corner kick.
In the match, the Rangers led with 15 total shots to UIndy's 13. Wisconsin-Parkside took seven corner kicks to the Greyhounds' five on the day.
Shae Morris was assessed the loss in the net for UIndy, making seven saves in 90 minutes of work.
The Greyhounds continue on in GLVC play at Maryville Friday. UIndy stays in St. Louis for the weekend, facing off with Missouri-St. Louis Sunday.
