BOWLING GREEN, Ohio- Senior
Aaron Monson led the UIndy men's golf team to a fourth-place finish at the 11th annual John Piper Intercollegiate at Stone Ridge Golf Club Monday and Tuesday. The Perry Meridian grad fired a 69 in the third and final round to vault him into second at the 56-man event.
The golfers battled wet conditions Monday, especially in the first round. Host Bowling Green State went on to take the team title after defeating Loyola-Chicago in a playoff, while Loyola's Alex Cusumano (76-71-69) was the medalist. UIndy was the only non-D-I school in the field.
Monson (76-73-69) entered the final round tied for eighth until his three-under score earned him the runner-up spot. The tally marked his fourth collegiate round in the 60s, two off his personal best of 67 set in September of 2008.
Senior
Rob Gleixner (T-19) and sophomore
David Frank (T-21) each carded an even-par round at the 54-hole tournament, while Florida Southern transfer
Tobin Dunigan (79-79-75) finished in 29th in his first action as a Greyhound. Sophomore
Max Bowling (74-75) was five-over par for 36 holes after a DQ in the opening round.
The Hounds fielded a “Grey” team as well. The quintet was led by freshman

After a solid showing among the Division I ranks, UIndy will mix it up with its peers when its travels to South Haven, Mich., and HawksHead Links for the year's first regional Sept. 25-26. The Hounds took the team title at last year's the fall regional, also held at Hawkshead.
