INDIANAPOLIS- A rainy day didn't deter the Greyhound women's soccer team, as staunch defense and a goal in the 65th minute lifted UIndy to an upset win over No. 3 Quincy Sunday.
Nicole Duncan tallied the game-winner in the 65th minute, firing the ball in from about 15 yards, past the pulled-out Quincy (7-1-0; 5-1-0 GLVC) keeper to hand the Lady Hawks their first loss of the season.
Shelby Spinelli led the play with a ball through the middle to Duncan, for her team-leading fourth score of the year.
Shae Morris earned the shutout victory, making four saves in her 90 minutes in the net for the Greyhounds (5-3-0; 3-2-0 GLVC). The shutout is Morris' fifth of the year.
Quincy led the shots battle 15-3, and also took nine corner kicks to the Greyhounds' one in the match.
