Men's Basketball

Wilbur O'Neal had 18 points and eight rebounds, while Miles Mitchell added 16 points, but No. 21 UIndy men's basketball couldn't hold an 11-point second half lead and fell in overtime, 78-66, at Lewis on Thursday evening.

On Saturday, Adrian Moss and Reece Cheatham combined for 54 points to lead No. 21 UIndy men's basketball past Wisconsin-Parkside, 86-73, in front of 1,515 at Nicoson Hall on Saturday afternoon.

The Greyhounds host a pair of home games this week against Kentucky Wesleyan on Thursday at 7:45 p.m. and Southern Indiana on Saturday at 6 p.m.

Women's Basketball

Hounds glide past Flyers with a 23-point win on Friday. Junior Kristin Turner poured in 25 points for the UIndy women's basketball team as the Greyhounds notched a 82-59 win at Lewis Thursday night.

Wisconsin-Parkside put a damper on Sydney Weinert's block party Saturday afternoon, as the UIndy women's basketball team fell 73-70 to the visiting Rangers. The Greyhound loss creates a three-way tie for the GLVC East Division lead, as UIndy, Parkside and Northern Kentucky all sport 8-3 conference records.

The Greyhounds will host a pair of home games this week at Nicosin Hall against Kentucky Wesleyan on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and Southern Indiana on Saturday at 4 p.m.

Swimming

The University of Indianapolis swimming and diving teams swept their doubleheader dual meet against Lewis during Senior Day on Saturday afternoon at Ruth Lilly Center Pool. The No. 10 men won 109-85, while the No. 14 women won 100-78. Each team won seven events in the last regular season meet of the season before both teams head to Jenison, Mich., for the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships beginning on Feb. 8.

Track and Field

The Greyhound track and field squads split their time between a pair of meets this weekend, with one group heading to the Indiana Wesleyan Invitational, and another going to Indiana's IU Relays. In winning the men's weight throw, Royer topped 20 meters again this weekend, tossing 20.46 meters. The mark was good for not only another NCAA automatic qualifying mark, but Royer also bested the previous track and meet records in the event. A group of runners went to the IU Relays in addition to the IWU event. Jermel Knidred won the men's 400-meter dash with an NCAA provisional time of 48.99. Robert Gardner took fourth in the invitational portion of the 400 meter, with a time of 48.14, also good for an NCAA provisional mark. Next up for the Greyhounds is a trip back to Bloomington for the Indiana DII Open.

Wrestling

The UIndy wrestling team took a fourth place finish of 31 teams at the 2012 Pete Willson Wheaton Invitational. A trio of Greyhounds took second-place finishes, with UIndy also getting a fourth, sixth and eighth place finish at the event.

Next up for UIndy is a trip to the 26th Annual John Summa Memorial Tournament at Baldwin-Wallace next weekend.
