Chamberlain, Parrish take second place finishes at John Summa

BEREA, Ohio- A trio of Greyhound wrestling teams competed in the John Summa Tournament at Baldwin-Wallace Saturday. The three UIndy squads took seventh, 15th and 17th of 27 total teams in the event.

Austin Chamberlain took a second-place finish in the 157 bracket, posting a 2-1 record with a pair of pins, in :35 and :34 seconds. Chamberlain fell 12-1 to Natthan Ball of Lake Erie in the championship bout.

Dustin Parrish also took runner-up honors in his bracket, at 174. Parrish went 3-1 with a pair of major decision victories before falling 16-1 to Ohio Northern's Kyle Kwiat in the final bout of the weight class.

UIndy's David Lopez took third in the 149 weight class, going 4-1 with a pair of tech falls and a pin on the day.

A pair of Greyhounds placed in the 141 weight class, with Trey Weliver taking third in the bracket on a 3-1 day highlighted by a pin to put him in the third-place bout.

Blake Harvey also wrestled at 141, taking fifth place via a 4-2 day. Harvey had a pin and a major decision on the day en route to the fifth place finish.

Brockport won the tournament with a 204 team score, with Ohio Northern taking second with a 160.5. Lake Erie took third place with a score of 138.5. The Greyhounds top-placing squad amassed 68 points to take seventh, their second team totaled 25 points in 15th and the third UIndy squad posted 24 team points in 17th place.

Next up for the Greyhounds is a mid-week dual matchup at Maryville Wednesday, before UIndy will host Findlay and Mercyhurst in dual action Saturday.
