INDIANAPOLIS- In case you missed it, there was a football game played in Indianapolis yesterday; the New York Giants won Super Bowl XLVI, defeating the New England Patriots, 21-17, at Lucas Oil Stadium.
But could the Giants have won the NFL championship without spending the previous week practicing winning plays at the new University of Indianapolis athletic facility?
We will never know.
Regardless, the UIndy community can feel good about the Giants' victory, as the now world champs held four practices at the university's Athletics and Recreation Center (ARC) before defeating the hometown nemesis- the Patriots.
"I thought I'd recognize the University of Indianapolis and the fine folks that work there for their hospitality and their preparation," New York Head Coach Tom Coughlin said when addressing the media at a press conference last Thursday.
"The facility there for us to practice is outstanding. … The people there have been outstanding, the hospitality has been great, and the facility is an outstanding facility to practice in."
Below is a photo gallery chronicling some of last week's happenings on the UIndy campus. Featured heavily is the world-class facility the Giants practiced in, one that both current and future UIndy student-athletes can take pride in having at their disposal.
Congratulations to the Giants organization and the city of Indianapolis …and of course to the UIndy community too.
