Men's Basketball

Reece Cheatham scored a career-high 29 points, but UIndy men's basketball couldn't keep up with No. 7 Kentucky Wesleyan, 84-67, at Nicoson Hall on Thursday night.

On Saturday, the UIndy men's basketball came back from 14 down at halftime and 11 points with 7:13 to go to shock No. 8 Southern Indiana, 65-59, in front of 1,313 at Nicoson Hall on Saturday evening.

The ledger doesn't get easier for UIndy as they conclude the season with four of its last five on the road starting next week at No. 15 Northern Kentucky on Thursday and No. 1 Bellarmine on Saturday.

Women's Basketball

Down 13 points with less than 14 minutes to play, the UIndy women's basketball team came all the way back to earn a 76-72 win versus Kentucky Wesleyan Thursday night at home.

The UIndy women's basketball team shot nearly 50 percent from the floor and 80 percent from the line in a 72-53 win against visiting Southern Indiana Saturday. Three Greyhounds scored in double figures, including a game-high 25 points from junior Kristin Turner.

The Hounds hope to keep it rolling when they hit the road for a match-up with a hungry NKU team Thursday night. Just five games remain in the regular season.

Men's Tennis

The UIndy men's tennis team remained perfect in dual matches by beginning 2012 with a 7-2 win at the UIndy Tennis Center against Georgetown (Ky.) on Saturday evening.

UIndy hosts future Great Lakes Valley Conference member McKendree at 1p.m. next Saturday at the UIndy Tennis Center.

Women's Tennis

The UIndy women's tennis team played its first dual match of the season on Saturday and came away with an 8-1 triumph over Georgetown (Ky.) at the UIndy Tennis Center.

UIndy returns to the Tennis Center on Feb. 11 to host crosstown rival Butler at 5 p.m.

Track & Field

The Greyhound track and field squads sent competitors to a pair of meets during the weekend, with a group going to the Taylor Indoor Invitational and another going to the Findlay Indoor Track and Field Open where the Greyhounds posted five NCAA marks.

Wrestling

A trio of Greyhound wrestling teams competed in the John Summa Tournament at Baldwin-Wallace Saturday. The three UIndy squads took seventh, 15th and 17th of 27 total teams in the event.
