INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Indianapolis women's tennis team is headed back to Greencastle, Ind., for the Tiger Invitational against DePauw, Butler and Oakland. The event takes place on Saturday and Sunday with action beginning at 9 a.m. each day.
The Greyhounds went 12-6 in singles and 7-2 in doubles at the DePauw Fall Invitational two weekends ago in their first competition of the season. Freshman
Allie Smith at No. 1 singles, junior
Claire Liles at No. 4 and senior
Kim Wasielewski at No. 6 all reached the finals of their flight, while senior
Alex Covington and freshman
Macey Speer won the No. 3 doubles flight.
"We've had two weeks to implement some of the things I saw that we needed to work on after the first tournament and I'm looking forward to seeing the players work those things into their matches," head coach
Malik Tabet said. "This is also a good tournament against quality competition that will continue to help us prepare for next weekend's regional championships."
The Tiger Invitational will see each player at each position in singles and doubles play their corresponding player/team from each of the other teams. For example, the Hounds No. 1 player will play the No. 1 from the Tigers, Bulldogs and Golden Grizzlies.
