Tennis resumes play by hosting Georgetown on Saturday

INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Indianapolis men's and women's tennis teams will return to the courts for competition when they host dual matches against Georgetown (Ky.) at the UIndy Tennis Center on Saturday. The women will open play at 1 p.m., followed by the men at 5 p.m.

The Greyhound men are ranked ninth in the the Midwest Region after the fall and featuring regionally-ranked players in singles and doubles. Freshman Luke Hubert is 17th in singles and ninth in doubles teaming with junior Trevor Cox. The tandem of senior Matt Smith and freshman Fausto Cordova are ranked fourth in doubles. The men will also debut a new player that joined the team at the beginning of the new semester in freshman Ryan Frankel.

The men will be facing a group of Tigers (2-1) that are ranked No. 22 in the country in NAIA. The two teams faced off last season at the UIndy Tennis Center and the Greyhounds prevailed, 7-2.

UIndy's women earned an 8-1 win over Georgetown (2-2) in the meeting last season and the Tigers' women come into Saturday's match-up receiving votes in the NAIA national poll.
