INDIANAPOLIS –
The UIndy women's tennis team took care of an under-manned Kentucky Wesleyan squad, 9-0, on Friday afternoon at the UIndy Tennis Center.

With two missing players, the Panthers (2-9, 0-5 GLVC) gave up three points to the Greyhounds (7-3, 4-1 GLVC), and they took advantage.

Seniors Rachel Barger and Kim Wasielewski won 8-0 at No. 2 doubles, while Taylor Eckert and Allie Smith moved to 4-1 at No. 1 doubles in Great Lakes Valley Conference competition with an 8-1 triumph.

After winning the first doubles match of her career, Wasielewski came back to take a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles over Chris Spear in the first match off the court.

Barger moved to 4-1 in GLVC singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win of her own at No. 3, while Smith and Eckert took 6-1, 6-0 wins at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively.

The Greyhounds return to the UIndy Tennis Center tomorrow at 10 a.m. to take on in-state rival Southern Indiana (8-8, 3-2 GLVC) for Senior Day. Seniors Barger, Wasielewski and Alex Covington will be recognized prior to the match.

UIndy is trying to claim sole possession of the GLVC East No. 2 seed in the upcoming GLVC Championship Tournament with a win over the Screaming Eagles and have an outside chance to share the GLVC East title with a Lewis loss this weekend.
