INDIANAPOLIS
– Postseason awards continue to pile up for members of the UIndy softball team.  Five Greyhounds were cited in the release of the 2013 Daktronics, Inc., Division II All-America Team Thursday, including first-team honorees Jennifer DeMotte, Morgan Foley and Casey Williamson.

UIndy's three first teamers led all of Division II, while its total of nine All-America honorees since 2007 is also good for a D-II high.  Both DeMotte and Williamson are repeat offenders, with DeMotte garnering a third straight first-team nod and Williamson replicating last year's laurels.

After becoming the program's first-ever First Team All-American In 2011, utility-pitcher Jennifer DeMotte compiled a 26-3 record and a miniscule 1.06 ERA in the circle this season, with the latter good for seventh in Division II.  She also started 27 games in center field and amassed a .422 on-base percentage and 44 ribbies as the Hounds' clean-up hitter.

Also a two-time Academic All-America® First Team member, the Indianapolis native, who graduated magna cum laude earlier this month, finished her collegiate career as the school's all-time leader in pitching wins (97), strikeouts (755), shutouts (40) and innings pitched (749.0), while also setting offensive records for most career doubles (48) and walks (117).

Sophomore outfielder Casey Williamson continued the torrid pace she set as a freshman last season. The two-time GLVC Player of the Year set new program marks for slugging percentage (.819), runs (61), hits (84), RBIs (56) and total bases (154) in 2013.  Possessing a rare combination of power and speed, the Bishop Chatard product also ranked sixth in Division II in triples (7) while racking up 36 stolen bases – one shy of the school record.

Making her first appearance on the Daktronics All-America Team, Morgan Foley was the lone freshman recognized on the first-team list.  The rookie from Louisville, Ky., ranked in the top five among all Division II pitchers in hits allowed per game (3rd, 3.7), wins (4th, 28) and strikeouts (5th, 319).

Also recognized were UIndy seniors Kelsey Rummel and Bailey Wittenauer, who each appeared on the All-America Honorable Mention list.  A four-year starter for the Hounds, Rummel finished her career ranked in the top three all-time at UIndy in runs (128), hits (213) and stolen bases (74), while Wittenauer, who transferred to the school for her senior season, racked up 10 home runs and 51 RBIs while slugging .587 for the Hounds in 2013.

Sponsored by Daktronics, Inc., an acknowledged world leader in scoring, timing and programmable display systems for virtually every sport at every level of competition, the 2013 Daktronics, Inc., All-America Team was voted on by the members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
