Home events highlight Fall Break weekend calendar
The men's and women's soccer teams, volleyball and football all have home events this week here on campus. The GLVC schedule comes to a close for the soccer teams and the football team entertains the NCAA Division II top-ranked team (Grand Valley State). With Fall Break approaching, the first of the winter sports gets underway as the swimming and diving teams head to Purdue University on Saturday.

Men’s Soccer: UIndy has tied the program record for wins in a season with 11 ... The Hounds play their final three regular season matches at home, where they are 9-1 so far in 2006 ... UIndy is 11-5 this season, 6-5 in the conference, holding solid in sixth place in the league standings.
Women’s Soccer: The Greyhounds knocked-off #9 Quincy with a 1-0 win on Sunday ... The Hawks had not been shutout all season and suffered just their second loss of 2006 ... Ashley Seehase registered her team-high 8th goal, five of those are game-winners ... Goalkeeper Abby Tracy notched her 5th shutout of the season in the win over Quincy, making a career-high 8 saves ... She has a 0.81 goals against average this season ... UIndy is tied for fifth place in the GLVC standings heading into its final two conference matches.
Volleyball: Two tough road losses dropped the Hounds to 17-7 overall ... Senior captain Lynne Ross continues to lead the GLVC in attack percentage (.371) ... She needs 14 to break the school’s all-time mark for total blocks ... Head Coach Jody Butera is three wins shy of recording her eighth straight 20-win season ... Beth Robbins had 63 assists against Drury, the fourth-highest match total in the conference this season.
Women’s Golf: The Hounds wrap-up the fall portion of their schedule on Tuesday at Nova Southeastern ... Kristi Piepenbrink (2nd) and Sarah Prascsak (4th) rank among the GLVC scoring average leaders.
Men’s Golf: The Greyhounds will compete at the Riverman Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, ending their fall season ... Entering this weekend, Chris Clemens, Seth Fair, Justin Hueber and Jon Schultz are all in the top 10 in GLVC scoring average.
Cross Country: Miranda Loney was named the GLVC Female Runner of the Week for her performance at the Sean Earl Lakefront Invite ... LeAnn Sarka led the women to a 4th place finish at the SIUE Border Wars ... the teams prepare for the upcoming GLVC Championships on Oct. 21.
Men’s Tennis: The Hounds won a pair of 6-3 matches against Taylor and Marian on Sunday ... Freshman Jonathan Hack won both of his singles matches and paired up with freshman Levi Musser to take both doubles matches as well.
Swimming & Diving: Head Coach Gary Kinkead, in his 13th season at the helm, heads a group of 22 men and 21 women ... The teams open their season this weekend at the Indiana Intercollegiate Open at Purdue.
Football: Hounds host nation’s top-ranked team, the Grand Valley State University Lakers, on Saturday ... GVSU has won 19 straight games dating back to the opener of the 2005 season ... Craig Jenkins rattled-off a 54-yard run last Saturday at Hillsdale, giving him his ninth run of 20 yards or more in his brief college career, and third straight week that he’s had at least a 30-yard play ... Indianapolis has only been behind for a grand total of 29:17 all season ... In its two losses, UIndy has only trailed for 3:37 combined (*including OT).
