Post-Thanksgiving action includes open to league hoops play

General:  The University of Indianapolis was proud to announce its 40th CoSIDA Academic All-America honoree last week when senior soccer player Jenny Beerbower was named to the Women's Soccer Third Team.  Beerbower became the 28th Academic All-American at UIndy since 2000.

Men's Basketball: UIndy (1-1, 0-0 GLVC) enters the conference schedule, heading to Missouri for road games at Missouri-St. Louis and Missouri-Rolla.  The Greyhounds fell to in-region foe Hillsdale, 83-70, last Wednesday in their last action.  James Thompkins leads the team in scoring, after scoring 22 points in his only action (vs. Hillsdale).

Women's Basketball:  Indianapolis (2-1, 0-0 GLVC) is fresh off a split at the GLIAC/GLVC Classic in Ashland, Ohio on Nov. 17-18.  The Greyhounds will open league play at Missouri-St. Louis on Thursday, followed by a road game at Missouri-Rolla on Saturday.  Senior Mandy Geryak leads the team with a 15.0 points per game average, adding 4.3 assists per contest.  Deanna Thomson is the team-leader in rebounds (5.3 rpg).

Wrestling:  UIndy wrestles in the Indiana "Little State" meet this weekend.  The meet comprises all the collegiate wrestling schools in the state of Indiana outside of NCAA Division I.  Senior Jose Navarro was the Little State heavyweight champion in 2005 while junior Shane Perkey took runner-up honors in the 133 weight class.

Swimming and Diving:  The Greyhounds travel to Ashland, Ohio for an invite at Ashland University, a fellow member of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.  UIndy has been off since the Wabash Invitational back on Nov. 17.  The Hounds were runners-up at Wabash, taking second in both the men's and women's standings.  The Ashland Invite will serve as the final competition this semester as the team will be off until a home invitational on Jan. 5.
