News and notes from all Greyhound athletics teams in action. 

Swimming and Diving:  Senior Alison Smith was named the National College Female Division II Swimmer of the Week according to an announcement made on Wednesday.  The national award is the second of the season for Indianapolis swimmers as Valerie Crosby won the honor back on Nov. 15.  Jeremy Lindauer was also named the GLIAC Male Swimmer of the Week.  The Hounds host Truman State University at Ruth Lilly Center Pool on Friday and Saturday.

Women's Basketball:  Head Coach Teri Moren's team looks to extend its six-game winning streak as it heads to Rockhurst and Drury in league play this weekend.   Senior Amanda Norris leads the Hounds, scoring 15.2 ppg and grabbing 7.2 rebounds per contest.

Men's Basketball:  UIndy will attempt to double its win total from last season as it wraps up a season-long eight game road trip.  The Hounds last appearance in front of the home faithful was nearly a month ago, a Dec. 17 win over Saginaw Valley State University.  DeAndre Brock is the Hounds' leading scorer at 17.3 ppg, while Braxton Mills is the top rebounder at 5.7 per game.

Wrestling:  Following a successful showing at the Midwest Classic held last weekend, the Greyhounds head to Central Missouri State on Saturday.  UIndy is currently ranked #13 in NCAA Division II.  Four Hounds are listed among the individual national rankings in their respective weight class:  Shane Perkey (5th-133), Charlie Pingleton (6th- 149), Mike Jackson (5th- 174) and Joey Navarro (6th- 285).

General:  University of Indianapolis student-athletes contniued to succeed in the classroom, combining for a 3.138 grade point average for the fall semester.  13 of the 19 varsity Greyhound sports finished the fall term with a combined GPA of 3.0 or above.  The women's cross country team led the way with an impressive 3.644 first semester GPA.  The top men's team was the soccer team, who posted a 3.4987 combined average.
