Men's tennis improves to 2-0 with win at Ohio Dominican

COLUMBUS, Ohio --
The University of Indianapolis men's tennis team swept its Ohio road trip by winning at Ohio Dominican, 5-4, Sunday afternoon.

The Greyhounds (2-0) started by winning at the top doubles positions as Matt Smith and Pete Wilson took an 8-2 win at No. 1 and Trevor Cox and Alex Poe won 8-5 at second doubles.

UIndy continued to do well in singles against the Panthers (0-2). Cox and Poe swept the top two positions for the second day in a row. Cox won 6-2, 6-1 against Tyler Johnston at No. 1 and Poe defeated Claude Badowski 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2.

The clinching point for UIndy came at No. 6 where Preston Swain defeated Patrick Ohanian 6-2, 6-4.

The Greyhounds are off until Feb. 4 when they resume dual play at the UIndy Tennis Center against Georgetown (Ky.).
