Regular season closes with loss at No. 32 Southern Indiana

University of Indianapolis men's tennis dropped its regular season finale, 8-1, at No. 32 Southern Indiana on Sunday afternoon at the USI Tennis Courts.

The Greyhounds (11-8, 2-3 GLVC) had already clinched a berth in next weekend's Great Lakes Valley Conference Tennis Championships in Springfield, Mo. UIndy will be the four seed from the GLVC East and play the top-seeded team from the GLVC West.

The Screaming Eagles (19-2, 5-0 GLVC) started fast by dropping only a combined five games in winning all three doubles matches. USI kept it up in singles by winning the first five matches to finish by losing only a combined nine games in 10 sets.

The Crimson and Grey picked up their lone point at No. 6 singles with senior Pete Wilson downing Nathan Lattimer 7-6 (6), 6-3.
