Between the two teams, the Greyhounds broke three GLVC meet records and nine UIndy records at
last season's GLVC Championships. The men recorded 22 medals while compiling 801 total points to finish 32.5 ahead of second-place Missouri S&T. The women earned 11 medals on the way to a runner-up finish.
Currently, several Greyhounds look to have opportunities to claim an individual title in several events. Five different first-year UIndy student-athletes are ranked first in their respected events, including
Marizel van Jaarsveld. Van Jaarsveld was awarded the PNC Women's Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week twice this season, and is seeded first in both the 200 and 400 IM, while sitting second overall in the 200 fly.
Christian Hedeen is another newcomer who has had an impressive freshman season, ranking first in the men's 500 free and fourth in the 200 free.
UIndy's veterans will look to have a high impact on the GLVC Championships as wel. Divers
Payton Staman (2019) and
Josh Zylstra (2017, 2018) have owned the GLVC Men's Diver of the Year award, alongside
Cassie Kury's two straight honors as the league's top female diver. Inside the lanes,
Edda Skoric made her senior season campaign memorable, winning every single women's 200 back race that she participated in during the regular season. Skoric currently sits at the top going into GLVCs, while also ranking second in the 100 back.
Jan Zuchowicz will look for his own set of medals in several events, currently placed second overall in both the 100 and 200 breast.
The GLVC Sports Network will begin broadcasting the meet on Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 9:45 a.m. with day one prelims. Information regarding location, tickets and seating, and other information can be found on the
GLVC Swimming & Diving Championships website.
