Orel Oral '04

Former UIndy seven-time NCAA II national champion Orel Oral is the assistant coach for the Greyhounds.  Entering his third season on deck, Oral brings a wealth of knowledge as a world-class athlete.

Oral is also active in area swim clubs, coaching for the Zionsville Swim Club for the past three seasons.

Among his decorated swimming career was an eighth-place finish in the finals of the 100 individual medley at the World Swimming Championships in Conseco Fieldhouse in downtown Indianapolis in Oct 2004.  He just missed qualifying for the finals in the 50 backstroke event by sixth hundredths of a second. The two-time Turkish Olympian turned in a 24.79 effort in the semifinals to finish ninth.  Oral’s time was a personal best, breaking the Turkish record.
