INDIANAPOLIS- The 11th-ranked University of Indianapolis women’s basketball team received a 20-point game from both Samantha Meissel (pictured) and Jessica Canary in its 66-50 win over St. Catharine at Nicoson Hall Sunday afternoon. Meissel and Canary combined for 42 points as the victory made Head Coach LeAnn Freeland three-for-three in season openers at UIndy.

INDIANAPOLIS- UIndy women’s basketball head coach LeAnn Freeland revealed a talented list of early signees Friday, as Megan Birchmeier (Corunna, Mich.), Chas Lecher (Greensburg, Ind.), Katy McIntosh (Austin, Ind.), Rose Savela (Manistee, Mich.), and Shelby Wall (Kokomo, Ind.) have all signed National Letters of Intent to join the Greyhounds next fall.

INDIANAPOLIS -- With the 2009-10 college basketball season approaching, both men's and women's GLVC Basketball Preseason Coaches Polls have been released by the conference office. The Greyhound men's squad, led by second year head coach Stan Gouard, garnered 16 points in the GLVC East Division voting to finish fifth among a division that features perennial powers Bellarmine, Northern Kentucky, Kentucky Wesleyan, and Southern Indiana. Coach LeAnn Freeland's women's team received 11 of 15 first-place votes to top the East division with 63 points, eight more than second-place Northern Kentucky.
